A little about the maker...

Hannah Kyriakou is a trained jeweller and silversmith based in Birmingham. Hannah studied for three years to gain her BA (Hons) in jewellery and silversmithing from the prestigious school of jewellery in the heart of Birmingham’s jewellery quarter. After graduating in 2012 Hannah wanted to gain more knowledge and so went onto hone her skills by working for other jewellery workshops to repair and remake jewellery, whilst working on her own collection of work, and launching her business shortly after. She handcrafts sterling silver botanical inspired jewellery which captures the simplistic delicacy of nature.

Inspiration

The inspiration behind her designs have evolved from childhood memories of forest walks, where she’d forage for leaves, flowers and pine cones, stuff them into her pockets and treasuring them. Now, instead of keeping them as mementos, the organic materials that she collects such as flower buds, seed pods and twigs are at the foundation of every piece of jewellery that she makes, using methods such as lost wax casting, hand forging and engraving to create each piece. She includes small and delicate precious stones which reflect the same ethos to produce delicate and detailed jewellery based on the changing seasons, and striving to reflect the beauty of the British countryside in all of her pieces.

Pride in Handmade

All of Hannahs jewellery is made by hand in sterling silver and 24ct gold plate. Each piece is cast using the traditional method of lost wax casting, then hand finished and polished in her workshop.
